ENG - Our Motivation behind "ROAD2DAKAR"

To understand the motivation behind our project, it is worth taking a brief look back to 1995—a defining year for our family. It was the year I was born, and at the same time the year my father began his journey into the Rally Raid world. The impressions my brother and I gathered as children—whether in the bivouac, in the service area, or while chasing autographs—played a major role in shaping our enthusiasm for motorsport.
Over the years, we often discussed the idea of entering motorsport ourselves, but these plans never materialised. One of the reasons was that I was competing in downhill mountain bike racing and was fully focused on that sport.A serious crash in 2022, followed by shoulder surgery, changed the situation substantially. During my first MTB enduro race the following year, it became clear that I would no longer be able to perform at the level I expected of myself.
At that point, my brother, my father, and I decided to take on a new sporting challenge together – and this is how Road2Dakar was born.
From the very beginning, it was clear that our entry into rallying would not be a one-off experiment, but a structured, long-term project spread across several years. Our father’s Dakar experience is an inspiration, but it does not replace our own learning process. We want to follow our own path—starting with the fundamentals of national and international rallying, with a clear focus on development.
